Dec. 27--Fort Worth-based Lockheed Martin Aeronautics Co. will be told early Friday that it has won a coveted, $3.5 billion contract to produce 48 F-16 jet fighters for Poland, defense industry sources say.
The company declined to confirm the deal, saying it was still awaiting the official announcement from Warsaw, but Lockheed Martin's French rival conceded the game was over on Thursday.
