AFTER THE GIFTS are opened and the excitement ebbs, Christmas Day can be a bit of a letdown. I like to encourage this soft, sleepy feeling by relaxing into a day with no agenda. Maybe we'll take a walk or watch happy birds bustling about in the garden. Maybe we'll read our new books and listen to new music.
We also encourage friends to drop in and share a simple meal with us any old time. Rich with root vegetables and greens, a big pot of Winter Solstice Stew can simmer all day.
