How should we react when the cultural values of immigrants clash with our own?
Here are some examples of the customs and traditions that immigrants sometimes bring to their new homes. Not all of them are legal in Canada.
Polygamy
It's against the law in Canada to have more than one spouse at the same time. It's called polygamy, and it's a crime (but no one seems to know how to handle it). However, in some cultures having more than one wife or husband at the same time is accepted. From time to time, members of those cultures come to live in Canada. One such is Winston Blackmore.
