Format wars continue at Comdex. (Industry News).

Anyone who thinks the recordable-DVD format wars may be cooling off wasn't in Vegas for Comdex 2002. TDB found a key executive from the Recordable DVD Council, which promotes the Forum approved DVDRW and DVD-RAM formats, hanging around the DVD+RW Alliance's booth. Once spotted, he sheepishly offered the explanation, "I was checking out the competition." A press conference from the Alliance entitled "Why DVD+RW" closed with the remark, "Don't think negative"--a cutting reference to the format that +RW supporters continue to refer to as "DVD minus RW."
