Testimonies on tapes: the Shoah Visual History Foundation wants to make eyewitness histories globally accessible. (DCD Business).

As asset management dilemmas go, the one faced by the Survivors of the Shoah Visual History Foundation is a doozy. The Foundation was established in 1994 by filmmaker Steven Spielberg, whose experience directing the Oscar-winning Holocaust drama Schindler's List convinced him of the need for an organization dedicated to keeping a permanent record of oral testimony by survivors and witnesses of the Holocaust. To that end, thousands of volunteers, community leaders, videographers and interviewers have helped the Shoah Foundation collect 52,000 eyewitness testimonies from 57 countries and in 32 languages.
