DCD: What led you to consider curating a film series primarily by mail, instead of in theaters?

LM: My kids, because of where I choose to live, don't have any diversity in their life. They have Harry Potter. They have Spider-Man. Occasionally they'll have the break-out independent film like My Big Fat Greek Wedding. But they don't have that until eight or nine weeks later. [So] we're combining the theatrical window and sell-through. What we're saying to consumers and filmmakers is, there's no more bullshitting. It comes from me, and from the filmmaker, right to you.

DCD: What are the advantages of curating a film series on DVD, as opposed to in theaters?
