Several parishes in the Chicago archdiocese were planning to hold special prayer services before Christmas to support efforts against possible military action by the United States against Iraq. The prayer service plans were underway as representatives from the archdiocese joined other Chicago-area religious leaders in urging President Bush to seek peace rather than war.
