When the new 330-bed Sauk County jail is finished next fall, Dane County Sheriff Gary Hamblin might come knocking on the front door.
Sauk County Sheriff Randy Stammen said Hamblin is just one of the county officials from around the state who have asked him to "save them some beds" since Sauk County began building the jail last year.
At this point, Stammen said, any discussions are in the preliminary stages and it would be up to the County Board to decide if it wants to house inmates from other counties.
