ONE of Wales's most historic piers could suffer the same fate as Brighton's if regeneration work does not start soon, experts warned yesterday.
The Friends of Colwyn Bay Pier gave the structure just four years before it starts crumbling into the sea as happened to Brighton's West Pier on Sunday.
Chris Hughes, of the Friends of Colwyn Bay Pier (FCBP), said the fate of the Brighton pier should serve as a timely reminder of the results of failing to maintain these Victorian relics.
