LEXINGTON, Ky. -- Rich Brooks said he felt like he had to get out of football coaching for awhile to get back into coaching, at least as a head coach on the college level.

Brooks finally got his wish Monday when he was introduced as the new head coach of the University of Kentucky football team. Brooks, 61, replaces Guy Morriss, who resigned on Dec. 9 to become head coach at Baylor.

Brooks, who will make $725,000 per year plus incentives over the next five years guaranteed, hasn't coached since serving as defensive coordinator/assistant head coach of the NFL's Atlanta Falcons in 2000. He began his ...
