OrthoGuard AB bone pin sleeves, coated with Medi-Coat antimicrobial technology, inhibits bacterial colonization on orthopedic pins and wires used during external fixation of bones.
The sleeves, manufactured by the medical device company Smith & Nephew, consist of polyurethane tubing coated with an advanced Medi-Coat antimicrobial coating containing gentamicin, a powerful antibiotic.
