PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local RELIANCE INDUSTRIES LTD. (RIL) is currently gearing-up to build a new polyester staple fiber plant at Hazira, India. In so doing, the company recently awarded the construction contract to Germany-based ZIMMER AG.
According to the terms of the award, ZIMMER will be responsible for building a factory with an installed production capacity of 40,000 metric tons per year. In so doing, the German company will supply: - The needed technology; - Basic engineering; - Equipment; - Construction supervision and commissioning services.
The project, of undisclosed cost, is scheduled for completion by the year 2004/2005.
