After nearly a year of negotiations, Patriots personnel director Scott Pioli has formally signed a multiyear contract extension with the team, according to sources.
Pioli, 37, is the youngest personnel head in the NFL. He had a year left on his original contract and had been rumored to be under consideration for a few general manager openings around the league, including one in Atlanta.
Instead, Pioli will continue his partnership with head coach Bill Belichick, a pairing that has netted the Patriots two winning seasons, an AFC East championship and a Super Bowl title over the past three years. While Belichick has final ...
