Jan. 1--As the hours counted down to midnight Tuesday, champagne and sparkling wine retailers were hoping sales would be bubbly, not fizzle.
"It's not real huge, but it's early yet," said Sherri Staebler, manager of ABC Fine Wine & Spirits in Englewood. "Most sales will be later in the afternoon. Korbel is kind of leading the pack."
