1. WEEKES Big Sky Farms Inc. opened its Grisdale Unit in September. The new plant is the first in Saskatchewan to house over 5,000 sows on the breeding unit. The Grisdale Unit employs 20 full-time and four part-time people.
2. BELLE PLAINE Prairie Sun Energy Products will build a $60-million ethanol plant. Between 120 and 150 construction jobs will be created, and the plant will create 30 to 35 permanent positions upon completion.
3. MOOSE JAW Film crews recently finished shooting the made-for-TV movie The Risen. Moose Jaw native Jeff Beesley directed the film, produced by Gail Tilson of Independent Moving Pictures in Regina.
