Tempe, AZ (Sports Network) - Ohio State has reached the college football summit for the first time in 34 years after pulling off an incredible 31-24 double-overtime victory over Miami-Florida in the national championship game at the Fiesta Bowl on Friday night.
The victory left Ohio State (14-0) the only undefeated team in college football for 2002 and gave the school its first consensus national title since 1968.
The Buckeyes received all 71 first-place votes in the final Associated Press media poll and were also a unanimous selection in the ESPN/USA Today coaches' poll.
