Aviation careers are taking off. In the next 10 years, more than 40,000 of today's career pilots will retire, creating more opportunities for professional pilots.
For aspiring airline, corporate, newsgathering or traffic reporter pilots, the nonprofit organization "Be a Pilot" offers introductory flying lessons for $49. The lesson is offered through more than 1,800 participating flight schools nationwide; since 1997, more than 140,000 people have participated and received an introductory flight certificate.
