North American railroads and private car owners spend approximately $1.5 billion annually on freight car repair and maintenance activities. With this amount of money at stake, the industry is concerned with ways to improve maintenance processes and performance.
In response to a Strategic Research Initiative sponsored by the Association of American Railroads, TTCI is examining current maintenance practices and looking at new policies and practices.
