The EV10, a new high-performance scan engine designed for the OEM market that incorporates its VISTA[TM] scanning technology, has been introduced by Intermec Technologies Corp.
According to the company, the EVlO is the industry's first bilinear CMOS (complementary metal-oxide semiconductor) sensor to use state-of-the-art active pixel sensor (APS) technology. Active pixel technology combines compact size (5.2 centimeters3/0.32 inches3) with scanning performance. Intermec reports that this new technology allows the sensor to be dynamically optimized for the type of bar code being read.
