Members of the Central New York Chapter of the Izaak Walton League hope to bring Beartrap Creek back from the dead.
They're seeking a $5,000 grant from the Onondaga Lake Partnership to pay for the first phase of the restoration project.
The partnership is a coalition of six government entities - Onondaga County, the city of Syracuse, the governor's office, the state attorney general's office, the federal Environmental Protection Agency and the Army Corps of Engineers - which are involved in the ongoing clean-up of Onondaga Lake and its watershed.
