Syracuse, N.Y., Jan. 7 (AScribe Newswire) -- Syracuse University Professor Linda Shires says her husband, Professor U. C. Knoepflmacher of Princeton University, remembers the Holocaust all too well. At age eight, Knoepflmacher fled the Nazis from Germany and later from Austria to eventually find refuge in Bolivia. Fueled by her husband's experience, and her personal conversion to Judaism, Linda Shires has turned her study of the Holocaust--how it is remembered, witnessed, spoken, packaged and silenced--into an online class for Syracuse University's Continuing Education Division, University College.
