NORFOLK -- After a ``minor'' glitch held the carrier pierside for five hours, the Theodore Roosevelt and its battle group sailed Monday for a monthlong exercise that could certify the 11 ships as ready for war.
The 8,000-sailor battle group is scheduled to train together off Puerto Rico, during which time 2nd Fleet evaluators will determine if the battle group is up to snuff.
Including transit, the exercise will take four to five weeks, Roosevelt skipper Capt. Richard O'Hanlon said.
