Quiz time: If you could improve your odds of new product success ... would you? Could you?
I don't mean to be flip or put you off with some sort of Dr. Suess phrase. However this month's cover feature on new product development has me asking if you ever stop to consider the new product development process itself as an "action" item for the to-do list?
Sister magazine, Stagnito's New Products, addressed this subject last March. In a piece titled "Learning from failure," writer Lori Dahm notes, "If executives can swallow the bitter pill of studying why their new product missed the mark, a new product failure can provide a company with valuable lessons."
