Jan. 8--Carnegie Mellon University will expand its West Coast campus at NASA/Ames Research Center by renovating two historic buildings at the NASA Research Park, university and Ames officials announced Tuesday.
The school has agreed to renovate 19,000 square feet of space and to remain at the budding research complex for at least 15 years, with options to stay for 48 years. Pittsburgh-based Carnegie Mellon, renowned for its computing and robotics programs, will be the initial anchor tenant in Ames' ambitious vision for the 213-acre NASA Research Park.
