Shanghai Telecom weighs into personal IP dial-up market
Shanghai. January 9. INTERFAX-CHINA - Shanghai Telecom, the regional subsidiary of China Telecom is reportedly entering the personal IP (internet phone) host dial-up business in Shanghai, winning over 100,000 individual users from market leader China Unicom so far, and mulling penetration into the more lucrative company sector, reports Guoji Jinrong Bao.
Different from IP cards, which require prepayment, and needing account names and passwords to log in, the host dial-up service identifies callers through a set telephone number, such as the 17909 number given by Shanghai Telecom, and sends bills to ...
