Jan. 10--Stocks in South Korea somersaulted today after North Korea pulled out of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.
Japanese shares also shuddered at the news, adding to downward pressure from fears of heavy selling by banks, and the Nikkei 225 Average fell below 8400 at one time before recovering to close at 8470.45, a net loss of 27.48 points.
Other Asian markets failed to follow the strong lead from Wall Street overnight, where further examination of President Bush's tax breaks on dividends helped the Dow Jones Industrial Average gain more than 2 percent to ...
