Politicians never admit it in public, but in private, they never stop thinking, speculating and plotting their next campaign. Sen. Chuck Schumer seems to be leapfrogging. Friends and colleagues in Washington say he is talking to them about whether he should run for governor in 2006.
He's toyed with this idea before, but it makes a lot of sense this time. If he does, he will really shake up New York politics.
