Jan. 11--A computer virus zapped oil giant BP worldwide this week, leaving local employees without e-mail, wiping out data on hard drives and disabling network servers.
"It had a very bad effect on our ability to conduct business," said Daren Beaudo, spokesman for BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.
Company computer techs were still working to clean up the mess on Friday.
Only informational systems were affected, Beaudo said, not systems critical for oil and gas production on the North Slope, where BP is the state's second-largest producer and operator of ...
