On New Year's Day, you published Mayor Meyera Oberndorf's excellent summary of the 40-year growth of Virginia Beach - and it has been spectacular. But she left out one important recognition for its growth: a ``thank you, Norfolk, for your help.''
Failure to recognize Norfolk's contribution to the growth of Virginia Beach is like an unappreciative child who fails to thank his parents.
Could Virginia Beach have enjoyed its explosive growth without the unselfish assistance of the older established city of Norfolk? Probably not.
How about the financial support of the two major Norfolk-based banks - Seaboard Citizens and Virginia National? Or the ...
