Jan. 12--UAE BACKS 1 MILLION BPD OIL OUTPUT HIKE: UAE oil minister Obeid bin Saif Al Nasiri told Wam news agency that the UAE favoured a 1 million bpd increase in Opec oil production. He spoke just before leaving for the extraordinary Opec meeting in Vienna this weekend. Saudi oil minister Ali Al Naimi promised that there will be no oil shortages worldwide on arriving at the meeting.
