New solid-state sensing devices provide cost-effective, reliable, and sophisticated physical access security for mobile devices, such as laptop computers, PDAs, and cell phones.
Two types will serve fingerprint sensing devices have been introduced on the market that an increasing list of applications. The first is a single-touch sensor, which requires firm pressure on a fingerprint-capture location. The second requires a rapid swipe of a finger or thumb over the sensor face, where a unique set of factors is captured quickly for rapid analysis and authentication.
