The United States and Mexico have reached an understanding on January 9 concerning Mexican water deliveries to the Rio Grande River through September 30, 2003. Under this understanding, Mexico will provide at least 400,000 acre-feet of water, including a firm commitment to provide 350,000 acre-feet of water, and at least 50,000 acre-feet more if climatic conditions permit.
