Didn't you used to be Vince Carter?
The Toronto Raptors' alleged franchise player still is The Man to NBA fans, at least the casual ones. Through the most recent returns of All-Star balloting, Carter was the leading vote-getter in the Eastern Conference with 1,023,750 votes - more than Jermaine O'Neal, Allen Iverson, Tracy McGrady, Jason Kidd or Michael Jordan.
But Carter has played only 10 games and, on the brink of a comeback Friday night against the New Jersey Nets, he had his return pushed back another couple of weeks or more by the Raptors' medical staff. That means he won't face the Timberwolves today ...
