MERCER ISLAND -- Immediately after the Australian national anthem finished reverberating through the gymnasium at Mercer Island High School last night, the loud, clear words "We love Australia!" raised from the bleachers.
Student body president Alex Strand dressed in a maroon bowling shirt but waved an Australia sporting flag for a team of visitors from Wanneroo, Perth.
