SAN JOSE, Calif. _ Silicon Valley reacted to President Bush's tax-cut proposal Tuesday with, well, a shrug.
It wasn't really what the valley's high-tech industry asked for.
The centerpiece of Bush's plan consists of wiping out the taxes shareholders pay on dividends. But most Silicon Valley companies don't pay dividends.
The other half of the Bush plan consists of a wide array of measures, which economists and some investors agreed could provide a stimulus to the general economy. However, those measures weren't the specifics Silicon Valley companies had hoped for either.
