FORT BRAGG, N.C. _ The Army's Special Forces have become an increasingly important part of the U.S. military as they've taken on some of the most dangerous missions in the war on terrorism.
In Afghanistan they helped rout the Taliban regime, track down terrorists and keep competing warlords at bay. Small teams also have carried out anti-terrorism training missions in the Philippines, Yemen and the former Soviet republic of Georgia.
