Jan. 16--MECHANICVILLE, N.Y.--NYSEG TO DELAY CLOSURE OF CUSTOMER SERVICE OUTLETS: New York State Electric & Gas Corp. wants to close the customer service portion of its office here as part of a cost-saving move, but the state Public Service Commission hasn't given the green light for that yet.
While NYSEG told customers this month the Mechanicville center on Werner Road and 12 others would close on Feb. 7, the utility told the PSC it would keep them open for two more weeks.
