Jan. 16--A huge, politically connected California contractor poised to win a $180 million state contract to work on the Bay Bridge is receiving new scrutiny about a fraudulent-claims verdict in Los Angeles and a city of San Francisco lawsuit accusing the company of behavior that is "immoral, unscrupulous and offends public policy."
