CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ One of the most rapid rises in NFL history is complete.
Jack Del Rio, who was playing in the league as recently as 1995 and wasn't even a coordinator until less than a year ago, will be named the new head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to numerous league sources.
A five-year deal that will pay him an average of slightly more than $1.2million a season was worked out Thursday, and the Jaguars called a news conference for 6 p.m. Friday at Alltel Stadium.
