Several major European and Japanese automakers are taking direct control of their distribution in Spain and Portugal.
But other automakers with small market shares - including the Koreans - are gaining representation in the Iberian peninsula from the established independent importers and distributors displaced by the move.
The major European and Japanese automakers have been taking more direct control of many European distribution networks for a decade. But some still take a different approach in Spain, western Europe's fifth largest new-car market, than in Portugal, the No. 11 market.
