COLUMBUS, Ohio -- COLUMBUS, Ohio, Jan. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- Ohio's largest organization representing nursing home residents and the people and organizations caring for them today sharply criticized Governor Bob Taft's plan to dramatically cut funding for elderly and disabled Ohioans.
Peter Van Runkle, President of the 780-member Ohio Health Care Association, said "if, as has been reported, the Governor intends to freeze Medicaid payments for nursing home residents, it is terrible news for Ohio's elderly."
Van Runkle estimated that the freeze amounts to a $450 million reduction in revenue for Ohio nursing homes residents over the next two years. "Coming ...
