The Bush Administration has appointed Brian Mannix, senior research fellow/regulatory studies at George Mason University's Mercatus Center (Arlington, VA), as a permanent environmental representative for an industry-led White House advisory panel on chemical trade. The appointment aims to end a three-year dispute with the Earthjustice Legal Defense Fund (San Francisco), which successfully sued federal officials in 2000 to forbid the panel from meeting without an environmental representative present.
