Outlook
U.S. acrylic acid demand is expected to grow at about 4.2%/year to more than 2.3 billion lbs by 2005, worth $1.6 billion, says William Baumgartner, senior research analyst at The Freedonia Group (Cleveland). The projected growth rate is slower than the 6%/year expansion in the five-year period ended in 2000, however, due to the global economic slump, analysts say.
