During her reign as America's dizziest femme flambeau, Lucille Ball blazed her way across stage and screen. In the '50s and '60s--when foregoing films completely to star in a television series typically meant career suicide--Lucy made the new medium respectable, even as the first visibly pregnant woman on national television. She was a pioneer of her era, but she's not finished trailblazing just yet. She's staging a comeback of sorts in Loving Lucy, which premieres Jan. 22 at the Unicorn Theatre under the direction of Jeff Church.
