Jan. 21--Airlines and travel agents used to be partners, even the best of friends. Airlines needed travel agents to sell tickets and paid them well for their efforts.
But that relationship soured with the advent of the Internet as airlines sought to use the World Wide Web to sell tickets cheaply and bypass travel agents, or at least cut the costs of doing business with them.
Now the feud has landed an airline and travel agents in a Fort Worth courtroom, where a lawsuit pits American Airlines against a former subsidiary in a case that could set a precedent for ...
