Jan. 21--BAGHDAD, Iraq--Iraq agreed yesterday to take practical steps to aid ongoing United Nations weapons inspections -- including encouraging its scientists to grant private interviews -- in what top UN arms specialists called a display of "positive cooperation."
Chief UN weapons inspector Hans Blix and top UN nuclear official Mohamed ElBaradei said Baghdad would also turn over new documents, let UN helicopters fly unaccompanied through no-fly zones, and appoint its own team to hunt for any remaining old chemical warheads.
