CHARLOTTE, N.C. _ Not too long ago, Dale Earnhardt Jr. was happy enough working in Dad's race shop changing oil and sweeping floors. Now he's the newest team owner in NASCAR.
Tuesday, during the UAW-GM Motorsports media tour, Earnhardt discussed plans to enter a car in a number of Busch Grand National events and another in three Winston Cup races this year. And he did it on hallowed ground _ at the headquarters of the plush Dale Earnhardt Inc. complex in rural Mooresville, N.C.
Earnhardt's team will be called Chance 2 Motorsports. He will co-own it with his late father's wife, Teresa. Seven-time Winston Cup champion Dale ...
