ATLANTA -- ATLANTA, Jan. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Leaders from Georgia's most prominent foodservice companies and restaurants today announced the establishment of the Georgia Restaurant Council Inc., an association formed to serve the needs of the ever-expanding industry within the state. According to the Bureau of Economic Analysts, the industry employed more than 250,000 Georgians, and generated sales of more than $10 billion in 2001, the most recent date for which figures are available.
