RESEARCHERS FROM A WIDE variety of disciplines increasingly use the Web for collecting and disseminating information' regarding alcohol and other drug use. Several new prevention and intervention efforts targeting adolescent health behaviors use the Web (Skinner et al., 2001). In most cases electronic mail (email) is used to communicate with respondents, and the Web is used for the actual data collection.
