Opposition to abortion is strong in Cincinnati, but the region's hotbed for anti-abortion sentiment is Northern Kentucky.
"We have a militant, active, uncompromising Right to Life organization here that some places don't have," said Robert Cetrulo, the longtime president of Northern Kentucky Right to Life.
Only two clinics offering abortions have tried to operate in Northern Kentucky in the last 30 years and both were quickly run out of town.
The last attempt was 18 years ago, when a proposed clinic wilted under intense public pressure and closed even before it could open.
